Private Residence 04

Our task was to update the façade on an uninspired 1970’s 2-story house in the historic streetcar suburb of Fox Chapel. Our design called for rethinking an uninspired facade that was clad in outdated T111 plywood siding. We covered the existing siding with modern pre-cast concrete panels and custom stainless panels above, giving the home a radical makeover. To better mark the hidden front entry, we designed a custom steel and glass canopy that was constructed over the front door. We also designed glass overhangs over the sliding doors at the patio elevation. The custom designed landscape light fixtures were constructed with galvanized steel and sandblasted glass. The glass reflects the light emanating from the recessed light fixture.
