Washington County Courthouse

Washington County Courthouse was constructed in 1900 and is located in the center of the City of Washington, 30 miles south of Pittsburgh. In 1977, the County asked Glance + Associates to restore the building, which is listed on the National Register. The exterior work included the restoration of the stone façade, installation of a clay tile roof, and the restoration of the terra cotta dome and the skylights. After a careful analysis of the existing paint colors, the entire interior was painted to match the original colors. The monochromatic stained glass ceiling panels in the major courtrooms were restored. All work was completed using the Secretary of Interiors Standards for Restoration.
